Q) How did you originally become interested in the green/eco friendly aspects of the project?

A) The Batch Heating process epitomises efficient coated material production. Effectively, what goes into one end comes out of the other. However, history and experience tells us that the fossil fuel and other energy usage within the process, such as oil, gas and electricity is inefficiently controlled, as are the emissions from the plant. Therein lay the challenge…

Q) What made you decide to go down the green route?

A) When looking at unfulfilled markets, Mixlance realised the ever-growing desire in end-users for increased energy efficiency, and lowered pollution-creating emissions. With these aims in mind, we set out on a crusade to develop the next generation of Batch Heater.

Q) How long have you been involved in the Construction Industry?

A) Mixlance will celebrate 20 happy years of serving the Quarrying/Construction Industry in 2006. Throughout that time we have strived to provide continued improvement and development of the Batch Heater in an ever changing and increasingly demanding environment.

Q) What was the inspiration for the modular design of the Plant?

A) The need to respond to a stale marketplace where the requirement for a new vision was evident. We simply asked what people needed, rather than what they thought they needed. The result was the Low-level Modular Batch Heater Coating/Recycling Plant.

Q) How did you originally hear of / become involved with LIFE funding?

A) Funnily enough, it was totally by chance, in a Sauna, in a Health Spa in Burton-on-Trent. The rest - as they say - is history…
