Dissemination Activities & Deliverables

The project has planned for each consortium participant to disseminate their respective results within their own industrial sectors and to then disseminate the entire project as a coherent policy document that has been agreed to publish and market in all journals and trade fairs across the UK and Europe. It has also been agreed that each consortium member can utilise these dissemination results in the further development of there own businesses and the marketing thereof.

Many of the project dissemination activities are dependant upon deliverables being produced within each task, which are generally scheduled to be available following the construction of the modular plant and the subsequent demonstration activity. However actions have taken place to make systems and procedures available to enable this to be as effective as possible.

Despite the main dissemination actions being dependant upon task completion, to date a number of preliminary actions have been carried out:

Production of 2 Audio/Visual CD's

Outlining the REF/LIFE project and containing descriptions of the benefits of the project, how it will work, and containing visual representations of construction and plant design. (Available from Mixlance on request)

Project Website

The project has established a web-site, http://www.mixlance.com/LIFE which is being constantly updated with dissemination materials as they become available.

Press Activities

Mixlance and its partners have targeted various trade magazines, for example:

Mixlance has placed an announcement in Quarrying Management December 2004, the recognised industry magazine, to promote the granting of the LIFE environment funding for the project. This announcement was supported by an interview with the project co-ordinator Mr J Smyth within the journal about the aims of the project and how it will benefit the industry.

Mixlance has distributed 4300 computer mouse mats in Quarry Management Journal (with a readership of 4,500 / UK Ireland & Europe), together with an invitation to Hillhead 2005.
